It's great to have kids in worship! We love their presence and their faith. As a pastor said, "The Lord prefers a crying baby at the baptismal font over a man snoring in the pew."

We have these helps for those who want: soft toy bags, Beanie Babies, a Nursery, sermonette, a blessing for them at the communion table, children's bulletins, people who love kids, and lots of kids.

There are Sunday School classes for pre-schoolers during worship following the Children's Sermon at both 8:15 and 10:45 services.

Rainbow School - guiding the mind and spirit of God's children

Rainbow School, located in Zumbro Lutheran Church, is our ELCA pre-school. Good Shepherd is a member congregation, along with three other Rochester area ELCA churches: Mount Olive, Our Savior's and Zumbro.

Rainbow School is a positive, first-school experience, providing for the growth and development of the whole child and the support of the entire family. We are a state-licensed, Christian preschool and we welcome all families who seek a preschool environment for their child that is based on the love of God. Our mission is to be a place where children develop skills for a life of faith and learning. We offer morning and afternoon half-day classes, with multi-age groupings for ages 3-5.
