Present: Donna Caflisch, Lori Bates, Tim Olson, Paul Evers, Sheila Bennett, Michele Saack, Jen Woodford, Scott Kruse, Wes Niemitalo, Erik Schlicht, Pastor Dave, & Steve Howe.
The meeting was brought to order by president Jen Woodford. Pastor Dave led the devotions and chapter five of the book “Reclaiming the L Word” was discussed.
Motion to approve the agenda was made by Sheila Bennett and seconded by Scott Kruse. Motion carried. MMS by Scott Kruse/ Sheila Bennett to approve the September minutes after corrections for spelling of Bitta Fynskov & positions to be filled are finance, secretary & fellowship. Motion carried.
Michele Saack reported that the September expenses exceeded income by $1508.
The three spots that need to be filled on the council are Finance, Secretary, & Fellowship so let Jen know if you have someone in mind to fill a position as well as for the six candidates for the nominating committee.
Paul Evers explained how Good Earth Village is getting farther behind financially and will not be able to fund their mortgage without additional funding. A fact sheet was passed out and after discussion a motion was made by Lori Bates/ Paul Evers to donate $2500 from the other relief fund to Good Earth Village. Motion carried. Information will be given to the congregation in the GSC Messenger and in the Sunday church bulletin to try get more donations.
There will be two Adult Forums held to provide information on selecting a call committee. The first one on December 05 will focus on the ministry and plan, following the O2 Plan. The second, on December 12, will focus on finances. All adults are encouraged to attend and any member of the congregation can nominate person for the call committee.
After discussion, a motion was made by Scott Kruse and seconded by Sheila Bennett to appropriate $500 from dedicated funds for Christian graphics designer, Sandy Poenitsch, to design a new logo for GSC, which would then be owned by GSC. Motion carried.
Consecration Weekend is November 17 and 18. Pastor John Holt will be the guest speaker on Sunday. Information will be in the November Messenger.
