  1. ADOPTION OF AGENDA
    1. Add 8b—Defibrillator and 10h—Christmas Tree.  MMS to accept agenda with those additions (Doug/George).  Motion carried.

 

  1. APPROVAL OF OCTOBER MEETING MINUTES
    1. MMS to approve minutes of the October meeting (George/Paul).  Motion carried.

 

  1. STAFF REPORTS (AS WRITTEN)

 

  1. COMMITTEE REPORTS (AS WRITTEN)
    1. Finance committee presented ideas for running next year’s Stewardship campaign. 

                                                               i.            This year, about 1/3 of the membership pledged to give

                                                             ii.            Small group concept emphasizing mission of the congregation may work better; discussed making a DVD showing Good Shepherd life and ministry

                                                            iii.            Stewardship should be a year-round emphasis

                                                           iv.            Committees:  make a list of your ministry areas and give it to Finance Committee

 

  1. FINANCIAL REPORT (OCTOBER)
    1. Last organ payment was made; sanctuary chairs purchased; Seminary aid was disbursed to Tricia Neale.
    2. Refund was received for the Shepherd’s Staff software
    3. There is about a $16,000 deficit at present
    4. Financial Report was approved

 

  1. OLD BUSINESS
    1. Follow-up on Audit Committee suggestions:

                                                               i.            Insurance (Executive Committee)—John will meet with Bob

                                                             ii.            Utilities (Property Committee)—Michele will give bills to Bob

    1. Defribrillator

                                                               i.            Waiting for specific proposal before buying

                                                             ii.            Val will contact Lonnie to get specifications

    2. Janis Evers for working on Fellowship events

 

  1. NEW BUSINESS
    1. Benevolence to Hope Lodge (Church in Society)

                                                               i.            Church in Society requests that if there is a year-end surplus, we consider a gift to Hope Lodge

 

    1. FYI--Building Use Policy—work group

                                                               i.            Will meet in early December and bring proposal to Council

                                                             ii.            John Kopp, Doug Tollefsen, Mike Thilges, Ellen Herder and Paul Evers are in the work group.

 

    1. Building Use Requests

                                                               i.            50th Anniversary Party; Pat & John Kolar—Approved

                                                             ii.            Tamara Bird—Nursery for playgroup—Approved

                                                            iii.            Caroline Anderson—Cub Scouts—Approved

 

    1. Election of Audit Committee member for 2006

                                                               i.            John will follow up on suggested names

 

    1. Thanksgiving Offering—Disaster Relief

                                                               i.            MMS to give offerings from Thanksgiving Eve service to ELCA Disaster Relief (Becky/Paul).  Motion carried.

 

    1. Organ lessons (Cynthia)

                                                               i.            MMS to allow Cynthia to give organ lessons at Good Shepherd (John/Gayle).  Motion carried.

                                                             ii.            MMS to have worship committee review space needs on a yearly basis.  (Becky/Doug)  Motion carried.

 

    1. Schedule December Council meeting

                                                               i.            John Kopp invited council members to his house on Dec. 19 at 7:00 for a party and short meeting.

 

    1. Christmas tree

                                                               i.            Question of where it will come from; John will follow up on this.
