MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 11, 2007 BI-ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

 

A quorum was met with  81  members in attendance.

 

I.  The meeting was called to order at 12:40 by President Jen Woodford.

 

II.  Opening devotions were lead by Pastor Dave Berg.

 

III.  MMS to approve December  03, 2006 Bi-Annual Meeting Minutes (Beth Krolak/Jerry Kruse).  Motion carried.

 

IV.  Old Business

               

                a .  Constitution and Bylaw Amendments-  Voted on changing to one Congregational Meeting per year and for term of President be a combined 2 years as Vice President and two years as President for a total of four years.  Passed by a vote of  71 votes for.

 

 

V.  New Business

 

                A.  Representatives are needed fro the Senate Assembly June 9 & 10.  There will be approximately 180 congregations from southern n Minnesota and Good Shepherd can have up to six delegates. The main business this year will be the election of the Bishop.  Volunteers were Paul Trcka, Susan Trcka, Sheila Bennett, and Julie Accola.

 

                B. Recognition for outgoing council members Val Jorgenson, George Price, Gayle Olsen, and Doug Tollefson .

 

                C.  Delegates for the Good Earth Village on Sun February 18 were Kurt and Julie Accola.

 

Discussion

 

                Discussions were split up into breakout groups with each council member leading a group.

 

VI.  Voting results

                A.  Approval of making Vice President/President a four year term-

                B.  Approval to have one congregational meeting per year-

 

VII.  Pastor’s Comments

                Pastor Dave encourage people to sign up for the congregational conversations.  Wants people to ask how God has been active in your life and how God has been active in your congregation?  There will be another coffee house on March 16 and reminded us that the Lenten season starts on Wed Feb 21.
