GSC Ministry Fair

Are you feeling the call?

Are you feeling called to serve?  Good Shepherd Church has many opportunities for you to be of service.  On New Member Sunday, November 19th, we will be having a Ministry Fair.  This fair will be an opportunity for new members and current members to learn or be reminded in what ways they may use their talents to be of service in our church community.  We look forward to seeing you there and hope to connect you with your calling.

Intergenerational – Spring Break Mission Trip

We are very excited to announce the first ever Spring Break Mission Trip.  We’ll be heading to an area on the Gulf Coast that was devastated over a year ago in Hurricane Katrina and has been forgotten in much of the clean-up efforts.  Youth Encounter has partnered with a church in Ocean Springs, MS to provide lodging, food, and meaningful work to crews that come down for a week of service.  Might you be called to spend your spring break in a different way this year?  March 30 – April 5.  For more information talk with Mark or visit: www.gscyouth.com/springbreaktrip

Pictorial Directory

A new pictorial directory is underway at GSC and pictures will begin this Friday in the Fellowship Hall.  We will attempt to call everyone scheduled this week to remind them of their sitting times.  GSC is also in need of volunteers to check people in when they arrive for their pictures.  If you would like to volunteer for this important duty, contact Mary Olson (529-1314), Ellen Herder (289-5723) or Mike Thilges in the church office (289-1748).

Chance to Fundraise

  • Help us raise funds for upcoming mission/ski trips and other GSC events this coming Sunday inbetween services and at 12:oopm.  We need students to work in the kitchen making pizzas and selling the pizzas for take home or our Vikings vs. Packers game.

There are numerous ways to fundraise for any GSC event.  Every student at GSC has a personal account on file on Mark’s supercomputer.  If a student helps out with a group fundraising event they receive one share in the money raised; which goes directly into their account.  Students can also do individual fundraising (such as Sunday Rolls and scrip sales[coming soon]).  All profits from these fundraisers go directly into the student’s account.  Money from a student’s personal account can then be towards the deposit or total cost of any GSC event.

Runway 36 & the Afters in Concert!

Wanna catch more of Runway 36 and the incredible Afters?  They are both playing at the Club 3 Degrees up in Minneapolis on Friday, November 10th.  A group from GSC is going up and you’re invited.  Sign-up on the youth bulletin board and get your money into the office by Wednesday, November 8th.  The cost of the advanced tickets is $10.  Club 3 Degrees (an all-ages Christian club in downtown Minneapolis) also has a lounge area equipped with pool tables, cafe, and an espresso bar.  www.club3degrees.com

Vikings vs. Packers
Pizza Sunday

Friends and rivals gather round a warm pizza pie and cheer on the green/purple and yellow/gold.  On November 12th we’ll have the game on the big screen and the youth will be selling pizza slices and pop to fundraise for upcoming mission trips.  Think you better keep your game-day self out of the public life..?  Purchase a frozen pizza and take it home.
