GSC
has expanded its web ministry to include a Web Log (a.k.a. “Blog”). Pastor Dave is managing it and we have this
as an area to talk about our community, world and our life together. Check it out at: http://www.goodshepherdchurch.net/pdblog/

High School Youth Group
High School Youth Group will be on Wednesday nights,
in the youth room, from 7:00-8:30pm. Come to a time that is half
crazy and half thoughtful as we dig into some very cool thoughts about life,
faith, and God. Past highlights included
Children of the Corn Maze, sledding through the woods, the Zairekka!
audio-visual overload, and games that always end with the question, “how is
this game like life?”
Confirmation Classes
If you failed to make it to our orientation kick-off
events please contact the office if you wish to participate in Confirmation
this year.
High School Retreat
Could you benefit from a time away from the hustle of
life..? A time to refocus on what’s
important and learn more about how God intended us to live..? Talk with Mark if you’d be interested in a
High School retreat. We’re looking at
the weekend of November 17-18; Location to be named soon.

Atmosphere: High School Sunday
AM
Do you have that nagging
feeling that you were created to be more than you are? Come to a weekly time of discussion, food, and friends that uses a range of movies, TV
shows, and short films paired with the Bible to dive into what it means to be
alive... in God’s Atmosphere. 9:30 on
Sunday mornings in the youth room. What Atmosphere are you breathing?
GSC on the Web
Next time you’re out and
about on the world-wide-web drop by Good Shepherd’s neck of the woods. You can learn about programs and events,
download videos and photos, and get the most up-to-date information on what’s
going down. Also, check out the God Talk
section for some interactive, mind-opening modules on faith and what it means
to be a Christian! www.gscyouth.com
As we begin simple suppers again, we are in need of some throw away
plastic containers, i.e... margarine or cool whip containers, to put leftovers
in. If you have any extra, please bring them in and leave them in the kitchen.
Thank you. The Kitchen
Committee
Thank You! I
want to thank all those that helped to make the Wild Wednesdays such a huge success.
My committee members, Paul Evers, Diane Klaus, Caroline Anderson and Michelle
Schlicht were invaluable in making these happen. There were many others
too numerous to mention, you know who you are, that helped in so many
ways. This was a great addition to our summer and a great chance for
everyone to get to know Pastor Dave.
Janis Evers, Fellowship Committee
Training sessions have been scheduled for the new
defibrillator at Good Shepherd. The
first session will be held following the 5:30pm service on Sept. 23 and at
9:30am on Sept. 24 and Oct. 1. Contact
Val Jorgensen at 289-6235 with questions.
All items left in the Lost
and Found at Good Shepherd will be taken to the Salvation Army on Monday, Sept.
25. Be sure to check the box in the
southwest corner of the church if you are missing any items.
Rainbow School News
Greetings from your
preschool, Rainbow School! I am Beth
Krolak, the new director in this place that nurtures children and their
families so well. I am a member of Good
Shepherd, and I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and many years
of experience as a volunteer and teacher.
Most recently, I was the Coordinator of Educational Programming at Good
Earth Village and I still have a special interest in helping families learn how
to care for and appreciate God’s creation.
My role at Rainbow School will be mainly administrative, with some
classroom support time worked in.
Here’s what is happening at
Rainbow School this month:
Present needs (maybe you can
help with one of them!):
As one of our four “member
congregations” you play a very important role in the success of our preschool
program: you help us to achieve financial stability through your gifts, you
provide volunteer help, you support our scholarship program, and your pastors
and staff members encourage our staff in their work. Thank you--we couldn’t be Rainbow School
without you!
In Christ—
