High School Youth Group
High School Youth Group will be on Wednesday nights,
in the youth room, from 7:00-8:30pm. Come to a time that is half
crazy and half thoughtful as we dig into some very cool thoughts about life,
faith, and God. Past highlights included
Children of the Corn Maze, sledding through the woods, the Zairekka!
audio-visual overload, and games that always end with the question, "how
is this game like life?”
Confirmation Classes
Confirmation starts this Wednesday for our 7th
& 8th graders and on this Sunday morning for our 9th
graders. It promises to be a great
year! If you failed to make it to our
orientation kick-off events please contact the office if you wish to
participate in Confirmation this year.
High School Retreat
Could you benefit from a time away from the hustle of
life..? A time to refocus on what’s important
and learn more about how God intended us to live..? Talk with Mark if you’d be interested in a
High School retreat. We’re looking at
the weekend of November 17-18; Location to be named soon.
Atmosphere: High School Sunday AM
Do you have that nagging
feeling that you were created to be more than you are? Come to a weekly time of discussion, food, and friends that uses a range of movies, TV
shows, and short films paired with the Bible to dive into what it means to be
alive... in God’s Atmosphere. 9:30 on Sunday
mornings in the youth room. What Atmosphere are you breathing?
GSC on the Web
Next time you’re out and
about on the world-wide-web drop by Good Shepherd’s neck of the woods. You can learn about programs and events,
download videos and photos, and get the most up-to-date information on what’s
going down. Also, check out the God Talk

Blog!GSC has expanded its web
ministry to include a Web Log (a.k.a. “Blog”).

community, world and our life together.
Check it out at: http://www.goodshepherdchurch.net/pdblog/
What is a Welcome Minister? This fall various members of
the congregation will be taking a minute or two on Sunday mornings to welcome
people, especially newcomers, to GSC. We
are called to be a welcoming community rooted in Christ’s love. The “Welcome Ministers” are making an
intentional effort by taking time to practice our approach to hospitality. Even though this is a group of people with
the gift of hospitality, at the end of the day we are all “Welcome Ministers.” Let’s continue to invite and welcome
newcomers to our community of faith with hospitality, joy and the Good News of
Christ’s love.
This fall as we have baptisms, please bring some water
from home. In baptism we are named as
children of God and the church family promises to teach, mentor and share the
faith with the newly baptized. A way of
representing these promises is to bring water from home and add it to the
pitcher which is sitting on the baptismal font.
God will act through these community waters offering the promise of forgiveness
and new life. Thanks be to God.
Please
bring water from home for the following
services:
10:45am
– Sunday, September 17
