WILD WEDNESDAYS

Two events remain on the Wild Wednesday schedule.  On August 23, come to GSLC at 6:00pm for the “Open Mic and Talent Show.”  Bring a dish for potluck supper and all the talented members of your family.  Tell a joke, do a dance, sing us a song and show us what you can do!  On August 30, gather around a campfire at GSLC for “Bonfire & S’mores.”  Youth Director Mark Hannan will be on hand to play guitar and lead everyone in some favorite camp songs.  Hot Dogs for roasting and all the fixings for s’mores will be provided.

Annual Pig Roast

The annual GSLC Pig Roast is coming soon!  Join us on Rally Day (Sunday, September 10th) for fun, food and games.  Watch for more details to come in the Happynings.

Nursery Coordinator

We are looking for a person to be our next Nursery Coordinator.  This involves maintaining supplies, cleaning the toys, and maintaining the bulletin board and sign-in book. This person would help recruit nursery helpers, fill openings in the worship schedule and be in the nursery for the 9:30 – 10:30am Sunday School hour.  A small stipend is available.  Please contact Gayle Olsen (282-1544) if you are interested.

ELW – Evangelical Lutheran Worship

The new Lutheran hymnal is coming soon!  Each book costs $20 and may be given in honor/memory of someone.  GSLC’s goal is to purchase 300 new books.  Watch for an ELW display board in the Narthex.

Rainbow School Open House

On Wednesday, August 30, Rainbow School will host an open house from 6:00-8:00pm.  Openings are available in Rainbow’s 2, 3 and 5 day programs for the 2006-07 school year.  Rainbow School is located at Zumbro Lutheran Church and is sponsored by the congregations of Zumbro, Our Savior’s, Good Shepherd and Mt. We Need Caring Adults

The church doesn’t just “have opportunities” for adults in youth ministry... the church needs adults in youth ministry and, more importantly, our youth need adults.  They need Christian adults in their life as a sign that they have an identity and a destiny in life and belong to something stronger than their peer group.  Right now, Good Shepherd need caring adults to 1) be a small group leader for 7th & 8th grade Confirmation on Wednesdays

2) be a co-leader of our Wednesday elementary-aged program called Starlights

3) be a co-leader for our high school group on Sunday mornings
