GSC Call Committee for an Associate Pastor

We appreciate the support of the congregation in completing the surveys. We collected 100 responses and will be using this information to update our congregational profile for the synod to use in the call process. Thank you!

During the past few years, the congregation at Good Shepherd has clearly identified the need for a second full-time pastor. At the January 27th Congregational Meeting the congregation approved the nominated members of the call committee. The call committee has begun the process to call an Associate Pastor to enable Good Shepherd Lutheran Church to continue in a proud tradition, growing and thriving – expanding our ministry and the love of Jesus Christ to as many people as possible.

We are currently working through the process laid out by the Southeastern Minnesota Synod. Seeking the guidance of the Spirit, the Call Committee will work together with the Synod and GSC to find the right fit for ministry here at Good Shepherd and beyond. This survey is one provided by the synod and will be used to help us find candidates with skills that match our needs.

Call Committee May Update.

The Call committee completed our Congregational Profile and submitted it to the Synod Office, along with the names of candidates who were nominated by members of our congregation. The Profile included information about our congregation, our ministry, our community and a description of the Associate Pastor position. We are appreciative of the Vision Team and the congregational survey input that we used to identify our ministry priorities. The 4 areas identified as priorities in the survey included Ministry to Youth and Young Adults, Ministering in Crisis, Inter-personal Climate, and Teaching Youth. It is exciting to see what our congregation is currently achieving, as well as to see the opportunities we could have with additional leadership.

Looking ahead, we will be receiving names of candidates from the synod and we will be scheduling interviews with those who seem to be potential matches. Please keep the Call Committee, as well as the ministry of Good Shepherd Church in prayer, that we may continue to minister and serve our community and beyond.
