The First Capital Appeal
In the past three years, Good Shepherd Church has made impressive progress
with the design, funding, implementation and construction of its facility. The highlights:
- The building construction is finished with wonderful results!
- The first of two planned Capital Appeals was a success!
- Total pledged was $680,000 -- and we expect to meet that goal at the end of the first Capital Appeal.
For all of you who made this possible, a big "Thank YOU!"
The Second Capital Appeal
Continuing the commitment...
With the first appeal nearing completion, GSC is now entering the second, and last, building Capital Appeal.
In the first Capital Appeal, some individuals were able to give more than what they pledged;
some met their pledges, new members added to the pledged amount.
After this second planned appeal, the mortgage will be paid from the church budget.
Length of the second appeal...
The second appeal will last for 32 months, ending December, 2006.
The goal of the second Capital Appeal is $600,000 which includes some money for room dividers
and the second phase of the organ. With the completion of a successful second Capital Appeal,
the formal building appeals will end. You may then request a certain amount to be paid to the building
fund as part of your pledge but there won't bew a third formal building appeal.

Staying Strong in Your Faith Giving...
The goal for the second appeal ($600,000) is somewhat lower than the amount received from the first
appeal ($680,000).
For new members and old, we ask that you evaluate your situation
and reflect on making a commitment to this second Capital Appeal.
For those who have pledged in the first appeal, please consider maintaining the same level of giving for the
second appeal as you have for the first appeal. Staying strong in your faith giving will enable
Good Shepherd Church to continue on its spiritual journey.
- Our service to outside groups will continue with even higher service
(families in need of shelter, social justice groups, and other groups).
- Our larger fellowship hall can serve large groups even more efficiently.
- We can confidently continue our mission work.
Of 200 churches nationwide, Good Shepherd Church was recognizedas one of twenty Lutheran churches
providing outstanding mission support.
- We can continue our extensive education effort for children of all ages.
- We can increase the flexibility of the fellowship hall with room dividers.
- We can increase the diversity of our worship with the completion of our new pipe organ.
- Our ownership of the church increases all the more quickly.
These things in which people recognize the good in Good Shepherd Church will continue with your support and
commitment.
The real strength of GSC is the commitment of the people: yor strong spiritual belief keeps GSC strong and active;
your commitment to Good Shepherd Church is appreciated by all who come here.
As each has received a gift, employ it for one another,
as good stewards of God's varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10
